The USDA Cooperative Extension Program is the leading publisher of information about all of the subjects of this blog including urban agriculture and houseplants. Sad to say that over the years, I’ve found most of it to be out of date and inaccurate.
You don’t need to take my word for it. You can check for yourself with a few searches, a few clicks. There is now a custom Google Search that will do a nationwide search of all the extension program websites (50) with just one click.
Let’s use a search on the EarthBox as an example. The EarthBox is a proven product with endorsements by Google, The American Horticultural Society and The Growing Connection (a U.N. organization) among others. It is in widespread use and one would think there would be lots of information about it on the extension program nationally. Not true!
Here are search results on the word EarthBox.
