As a part of the PS 39 Mother's Day Plant Sale this coming Saturday, May 7th, Frieda LIm of Slippery Slope Farm and I will be demonstrating basic portable micro gardening and sub-irrigation techniques. We look forward to meeting and answering your questions.
We are sad to report that it was necessary to install scaffolding around the school yard recently. Therefore the Plant Sale will take place nearby on 8th Street near 6th Avenue in Park Slope. The street will be closed for a block party.
We hope to see you there at one of the workshops scheduled for 10 am, 12 noon and 2 pm.
Find some plants for mom (see the flyer for the plant menu) and learn some new methods to grow both edible plants and houseplants in an environmentatly sound way. Your plants will never be greener.
See this prior post about the PS 39 Community Edible Garden. It is a look into the future of school gardens growing on paved surfaces with no exposure to the hazards of often-contaminated city soil.
