Who says there isn't beauty in a sub-irrigated planter box growing vegetables? This eye pleasing vegetable arrangement is growing in a Garden Patch Grow Box. The owner did a great job of combining leaf shapes and form in a pleasing way along with using a fence as support and backdrop for the box garden.
The planter is a sub-irrigated (aka self-watering) box similar to the EarthBox and Tomato Success Kit from Gardener's Supply.
All of these planters (including home made versions) will produce more vegetables in a given space while saving water and time spent watering and weeding.
This form of lead-free urban gardening produces vegetables that will give you the highest level of food safety.

If only everyone felt this way. My landlord does not like my Earthbox. Since all my plants are still seedlings the plastic is exposed and she thinks it's an eyesore. So I'm thinking of bringing it indoors so if you have any tips or suggestions on the type of lighting I can buy to grow veggies indoors, I'd appreciate it.
